In a move that will come as a surprise to many, Microsoft is rolling out its new security polices in the upcoming windows 10 feature release update.

The next incarnation of Windows 10, currently known by insiders as 20H1 will ask users to replace their passwords to
pins, which will be optional

Microsoft see vision of a password-less future, where users sign in to their Microsoft accounts on devices

“This will strengthen your device sign-in by switching all Microsoft accounts on your device to modern multifactor authentication with Windows Hello Face, Fingerprint, or PIN,” states the company

Last Month in March the Corporate Vice President Yusuf Medhi announced Window 10 had reached over a Billion users world wide, which was little later than their prediction it would happen by late 2018
